An 18-year-old woman was shot and killed early Thursday near Loyola Beach in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood, according to police. The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of West Pratt Boulevard, as the young woman was reportedly walking with friends.
Chicago police said the victim was struck by gunfire and died from her injuries. Initial local reports said she had been walking near Loyola University and Loyola Beach when the shooting took place. Authorities have not yet announced any arrests or released further details about a suspect.
