Walker Smith, a 54-year-old shop assistant who worked at the Clapham Junction branch of the high-end grocery store for 17 years, said he is devastated by the decision.
According to Smith, a customer approached him with information about the incident and he immediately sprang into action. “They told me someone had filled up a Waitrose bag with the eggs,” he recalled.
